Zarządzanie  zasobami ludzkimi a  zarządzanie organizacją

A new term Human Resources Management appeared in Poland in 1990s, at the beginning only in the materials translated from English and then it was applied by Polish authors in their publications. Human Resources Management is a relatively new approach to the personnel management where people are seen as a basic recourse of the organisation. The most important issues in this area are: good communication with employees, engaging employees into current problems of the organisation as well as the concern whether the workers identify themselves with the organisation and become loyal to it. Human Resources Management emphasises the strategic approach in acquiring, motivating and managing people. Therefore, we can define management as “a group of activities (including planning and decision making, organising, leading, i.e. managing people and controlling) focusing on the resources of the organisation (human, financial, material and information) undertaken to achieve the aims of the organisation effectively”.

Instrumenty controllingu strategicznego

The idea of controlling and controller is very essential. According to the newest theory there are three different definitions of this therm. The first of them concerns the information and accountancy. The second refers to particular managing form. The last one precises controlling as the coordinating function between planning and control. There are three available generations of these systems in literature: operating controlling, strategy controlling and global controlling. The most popular instruments, the literature includes, are: the effectiveness analysis, make or buy analysis, strategy balance, the theory of probability, scenario methods, Early Warning Systems

Systemy  wczesnego ostrzegania w instytucjach finansowych

Crisis  has  been inherent in work of modern firms. More and more importance
is taken to distinguish crisis symptoms and reactions to them. Nowadays many enterprises introduce the EWS. Such systems are principally popular in many European countries. By dint of them it is possible to distinguish chances or risks that impend. The third generation of these systems based on Ansoff’s weak signals is particularly current in stormy surrounding conditions. Such kind of signals ofen become the factors of crisis. There are three generations of Early Warning Systems. Two of them are used in financial institutions and banks. The problem of introducing and service of these systems becomes more essential because they protect against bankruptcy. Preparing methods of creating the systems is decribed in detailes in literature.World famous scientists’ experience can be the useful example for Polish enterpreneurs

Rola stopy procentowej w zarządzaniu bankiem  komercyjnym

Interest rate risk is the exposure of a bank’s financial condition to adverse movements in interest rates. Accepting this risk is a normal part of banking and can be an important source of profitability and shareholder value. However, excessive inerest rate risk can pose a significant threat to a bank’searnings and capital base. Changes in interest rates affect a bank’s earnings by changing its net interest income and the level of other interest-sensitive income and operating expenses. Changes in interest rates also affect the underlying value of the bank’s assets, liabilities and off balance sheet instruments because the present value of future cash flows change when interest rates change. Accordingly, an effective risk management process that maintains interest rate risk whithin prudent levels is essential to the safety and soundness of banks.

Banks should clearly define the individuals and/or committees rensponsible for managing interest rate risk and should ensure that is adequate separation of duties n key lements of the risk management process to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

Finanse firmy w krótkim i długim okresie – konflikt czy zgodność ?

The decision-making process is an essence of the firm’s operating and effects of different decision appears in financial area. In short-term financial decisions liquidity criterion predominates, while in long-term decisions – profitability criterion. At a given period these criterions can lead to diverging estimation of decision’s results. Two main areas of financial condition - liquidity and profitability - are usually evaluated separately. The common measurement of those two areas based on ratios is also done separately. Those separate analyses containing individual ratios used in the evaluation are not only inaccurate, but also they do not show the relation between financial occurrences - especially - between liquidity and profitability. The structural systems of ratios, which describe different financial areas, are a much better way of measurement. The article gives example of building ratio-system, which contain liquidity and profitability. This ratio-system can be used to evaluate different variants of financial plans and also to sensibility analysis of financial plans.
