Program prac konserwatorskich „Pałacyku” w Elblągu

Elbląg, a town founded in 1237 by the Order of the Holy Virgin Mary, presently is celebrating 770th anniversary. At the end of XVIII c many villas and factory mansions were created in Przedmieście Północne, the area near the Old Market. The oldest building of that kind is a mansion called “Little Palace” in Stoczniowa Street 10. It was erected in 1785 in front of Królewiecka Gate as a one - storey building in classical style, with the shape of a compact rectangle, double course with a vestibule on an axis and mansard roof.

The building was jeopardized with a catastrophe, the constructional and decorative stony elements were devastated, harmful dust, soot, and tarry substances from burning, lay on stones. Despite advanced decapitalization of the mansion, inner walls of the first storey are in good conditions as well as many ceiling beams over the storey, and some elements of roof framing.

Historical and technical values played important part in decision concerning taking over of the mansion in 2001 by Wyższa Szkoła im. Bogdana Jańskiego in Elbląg. The intention of the new owner was a thorough restoration of the building and rearrangement into didactical and administrative object as well as the place of group meetings. In 2003 conservation team prepared basic conservation guidelines, the restoration of the building will effect in improving technical condition and will bring back previous artistic values, there has been issued a permission to hoist annex by 70 cm to have an extra storey. Urgent conservation works is forced with the poor condition of many decorative elements, and the overall effect will bring back the town a fabulous monument and will enrich the college with a representative building, one of the prettiest in town.

Rola kapitału społecznego w rozwoju lokalnym i budowaniu partnerstwa

Local and regional development is nowadays a theme which gains on significance in connection with globalization processes and its impact on regional politics. Just local and regional environments are the places which are mostly predestined to create conditions for growth of competitiveness for local companies, and to ensure adequate level of life for their inhabitants. These tasks will be fulfilled only in case when in these environments reigns the climate of cooperation and local partnership. It will enable a righteous diagnosis of existing problems and description of ways to solve them in a complex cooperation network of various actors of socio-economic life. Such cooperation network based on confidence and mutual relations is called a social capital, the role of which grows nowadays enormously.
